What does the shift to digital mean for land-based gaming and sports betting? The 26th edition Canadian Gaming Summit will feature a special track to discuss land-based gaming’s future in a digital age.
The discussion will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Wednesday, 14th June. It will cover the digitalization of verticals like horse racing, bingo, and lottery, as well as the rise of omnichannel formats, and the tension between technology trends and cultural preferences.
The first session will be titled “Lessons learned from Community & Charitable Gaming”, where we’ll discuss how non-profit charities as well as commercial operators can stay viable and relevant. Speakers will discuss what charitable gaming needs to do to stay relevant and adapt to the changing industry.
The panelists are Peter McMahon, CEO, CGAO, Lynn Cassidy, Executive Director, OCGA, Diane Gartshore, Strategic Advisor, CGAO, David Fraser, Senior Director, Charitable Gambling, OLG, with Richard Schwar, Director of Operations, OCGA, on moderating duties.
The integration of innovative technologies with land-based games will be explored in the session ‘Bringing Emerging Technology and Innovation to Land-Based Gaming’. Experts will debate whether technology and igaming will reinvigorate or hinder the land-based gaming industry. They will also discuss how operators and manufacturers can work together to bring about a new age of innovation.
The panel will be composed of Richard Roberts (President of Digital Gaming, Mohegan Entertainment), Byron Bridger(VP Commercial, MD – Canada, iGaming, Light & Wonder), Thy Prak, (AVP Gaming Operation, Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority), with Larry Flynn, (President,2 Vice Advice Inc.), moderating.
The panelists of the ‘Talent On the Ground: Sourcing Diverse Talent in Canada As Companies Grow Their Operations’ will be discussing the growing Canadian workforce within the industry. Panellists will discuss how to integrate local talent while ensuring a diverse and inclusive workforce. Many operators are new to Canada.
The panel will be moderated by Katie Lever, General Counsel, Chief Privacy Office & Corporate Secrecy, Great Canadian Entertainment.
