Esportes da Sorte Expands Footprint in Brazil with Apostou.com Acquisition

Esportes da Sorte Group has completed the acquisition of Apostou.com, which operates BETBR Loterias. This company is licensed by the Secretariat of Lotteries and Betting (SPA) and has established a solid presence in Brazil, particularly in the state of Paraná.

Along with Apostou.com, Esportes da Sorte now also includes the brands B1BET and BRBET. This acquisition enhances the group’s footprint in Brazil, recognized as the fifth-largest betting market worldwide, and reinforces its dedication to the regulated sector.

With the Brazilian betting market on the rise, mergers and acquisitions have become a focal point for major stakeholders. From January to May 2026, the country reported nearly BRL6 billion ($1.2 billion) in revenue from regulated betting activities,

This revenue is derived from a 12% tax on the gross gaming revenue (GGR) of betting operators, in addition to corporate taxes, including IRPJ, CSLL, PIS, and Cofins. This financial landscape has caught the attention of larger companies looking to expand by acquiring smaller brands.

Esportes da Sorte itself operates several other platforms, including Lottu and Onabet. Earlier in 2024, while awaiting its federal license from the SPA, the group had acquired a controlling share in ST Soft Desenvolvimento de Programas de Computadores Ltda. This company also owned a brand named Apostou, accredited by Loterj since 2023.

Esportes Gaming Brasil holds a definitive license from the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting since 2025, and two of its three brands are ranked among Brazil’s top ten betting operators. According to Blask’s rankings for Q1 2026, Esportes da Sorte is positioned sixth, while Onabet is in tenth place. Betano leads the rankings, followed by bet365.

Before obtaining its national license, the group acquired ST Soft, which has a Loterj license, ensuring its stake in the national market while awaiting federal approval. Companies licensed under Loterj operate nationally, functioning under the assumption that Loterj's servers are centralized in Rio de Janeiro.

The acquisition is currently being reviewed by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) under Public Notice No. 464 and is being managed by HS Gaming Participações, a subsidiary of Esportes Gaming Brasil.

The Brazilian betting sector has generated considerable interest from both domestic and international companies. For instance, Flutter Entertainment acquired a controlling interest in Betnacional, ranked seventh by Blask, which also operates the Betfair brand within Brazil. Esportes da Sorte's acquisition of Apostou.com is part of a broader strategy to expand its operations in the country.

In line with this trend, ANA Gaming, which owns the 7K, Cassino, and Vera brands, recently completed the purchase of Aposta Tudo, further bolstering its active presence in the Brazilian market after previously acquiring Donald Bet and Ponto Bet.
