SBC celebrates the success of the SBC Summit North America tradeshow and conference that attracted more than 3,000 attendees between May 9-11, 2010 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center.
This event was widely recognized as North America’s premier iGaming & Sports Betting conference. It featured three days of action-packed sessions, led by more than 300 distinguished presenters. The event also included a dynamic Exhibition Area with 60 Booths.
The atmosphere was electric. People were exchanging ideas and embracing the spirit of collaboration. It was not only our largest event in North America, but also the smoothest we’ve ever had. I was really excited to see so many new people this time. Rasmus Sojmark , SBC’s CEO and founder said: “It is clear that the Summit has grown and attracted new perspectives and voices.”
The event began with a powerful preday conference at the Altman Building, Chelsea, on May 9. This focused on the important topics of Player Protection and Compliance as well as Leadership. 300 industry leaders were captivated by this session.
The SBC Summit North America was filled with many memorable moments. The keynotes given by renowned leaders were particularly impressive. Matt King of Fanatics Betting and Gaming took to the stage and provided valuable insights about revolutionizing sports betting and iGaming. Another notable speaker was Abagnale – a fraud prevention expert who is renowned around the world. His life story inspired Steven Spielberg’s movie Catch me if you can.
The event also benefited from notable personalities like Barry Gibson (Chairman of Entain), Bill Miller, (President and Chief Executive Officer, American Gaming Association), Richard Schwartz, (CEO, Rush Street Interactive), Jan Jones Blackhurst, (Board member, Caesars Entertainment), Justin Dellario, (Managing Director of Esports at Entain & Unikrn CEO), and Susan Jensen, (Executive director, CNIGA).
The quality of the conference sessions were out of this world. We took it up a level by expanding into a lower-floor to accommodate more top speakers. Not only were the conference rooms packed with insightful panels, but there were also many individuals who were ready to absorb information and move the industry forward,” sojmark said.
It’s one of my favorites conferences. It’s my third time attending the event, and I am amazed at how much has changed since the first time. There are more people than ever here, and I think we may be on the verge of outgrowing our space. SBC announced the four industry giants who will be inducted into the 2023 Sports Betting Hall of Fame at an evening networking event on May 10th. Michael Gaughan, Owner of South Point Casino, Nick Bogdanovich, Sportsbook Manager/Oddsmaker at Circa Sports, Trish Lewandowski, Sportsbook District Manager at Caesars Digital, and David L. Rebuck, Director of the NJ Department of Gaming Enforcement, were among the honorees.
Five startups competed for the grand prize of over $55,000 in the SBC First Pitch North America Competition. was the winner. Scrimmage is a retention tool that revolutionizes the betting industry by creating a gamified reward program to increase user engagement.
The SBC Awards North America ceremony took place at the New York Hilton Midtown. 600 guests attended to celebrate the achievements of outstanding operators and affiliates as well as Tribal-led businesses. Mederith Marakovitz is the New York Yankees clubhouse reporter on the YES Network. The lavish event was hosted by Mederith Marakovitz.
This year’s edition also featured a number of successful networking events during the day. The African Americans in Gaming and Global Gaming Women Meetups, as well as the highly anticipated Tribal Gaming Breakfast provided an excellent opportunity for industry professionals. Meanwhile, the Affiliate meet-up took place at the OpenBet Sports Bar, which was a relaxed environment where ideas could be exchanged.
The connections I was able to make were simply phenomenal. This conference brings the industry together, allowing us to stay on top of the latest trends and identify the forces driving innovation. It begins long before the actual event. Six months before the event, you are already contacted. In a short time, you will be able to build relationships which will propel your business.
