SEGG Files $20M Lawsuit Against White Diamond Research for Defamation

Sports Entertainment Gaming Global (SEGG) has initiated a $20 million lawsuit against White Diamond Research, claiming the research firm made false and defamatory statements that impacted SEGG's stock price, causing a decline of over 50%. The conflict began following a report from White Diamond on June 10, which labeled SEGG as a 'fake company' and cast doubt on several of its business announcements, including a partnership with Polymarket that the report deemed unlikely.

In light of these accusations, SEGG contends that the report represented falsehoods rather than legitimate investment opinions, thereby warranting legal action. SEGG asserts the statements made by White Diamond Research were knowingly misleading, detracting from open market discussions. Additionally, White Diamond Research brought attention to alleged issues with Sports.com, suggesting that despite numerous announcements of SEGG's expansion, the Sports.com platform had not yet launched.

Amid these challenges, SEGG has announced the introduction of prediction market contracts for FIFA World Cup matches via its Sports Predicts platform. This lawsuit emerges during a troubling period for SEGG, which has recently reported a late filing of its financial results. The company indicated a revenue of $690,000 for 2025, coupled with an operating loss of $18.1 million, while also pursuing the acquisition of Veloce Esports.
