Gibraltar has made significant strides with its latest regulation on prediction markets, positioning itself to create a clear and responsible framework for the industry. Following the announcement by Minister Nigel Feetham KC MP regarding the territory's direction for prediction markets, he is set to inaugurate Prediction Markets Summit Europe 2026 in Gibraltar on November 9-10, 2026.
The summit aims to spotlight critical regulatory, commercial, and technological issues within prediction markets, making Gibraltar the focal point for this evolving sector in Europe. The Hon Nigel Feetham KC MP, who serves as the Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry within the HM Government of Gibraltar, will deliver the opening remarks at the event. This participation marks a pivotal shift as Gibraltar advances from initial regulatory intents to a functional regulatory framework for prediction markets.
In his statement, Minister Feetham expressed enthusiasm about participating in the summit and discussing Gibraltar's regulatory approach. He remarked, "Gibraltar has always been prepared to act where others hesitate. We took a deliberate decision to create a licensing framework for prediction markets because we recognize the enormous opportunity they represent, economically, technologically, and for the global financial ecosystem. Our approach is quality over numbers. We want credible, regulated operators who contribute to what Gibraltar has built here over three decades. I look forward to welcoming industry leaders to Gibraltar in November."
Organized by Eventus International, Prediction Markets Summit Europe will serve as an in-depth forum gathering regulators, platform operators, financial market participants, investors, legal and compliance specialists, technology providers, and market infrastructure specialists for high-level discussions and commercial opportunities.
The program will cover practical issues transitioning from theory into execution, such as European regulatory classification, implications of the MiCA framework, cross-border licensing, event resolution, market integrity, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and the role of Gibraltar as a regulated environment for innovation.
The timing of the summit is critical for industry stakeholders, as it aligns with Gibraltar’s proactive approach to live regulatory frameworks. Attendees will have the chance to influence discussions, form partnerships, and guide the commercial trajectory of this rapidly developing market in Europe.
Leading up to the summit, there will also be a pre-summit LinkedIn Live webinar titled "Prediction Markets Under the Regulator’s Lens: Classification, Trust and Responsible Growth" scheduled for July 22, 2026, from 12:00 to 12:45 CEST, which will set the stage for key themes of classification, trust, and responsible growth that will be discussed in November.
