Gamecheck has revealed a staggering 5,000 fake online casinos operating in Brazil during the first half of 2026, prompting the organization to launch a comprehensive investigation aimed at exposing these fraudulent casinos. Beginning this week, Gamecheck plans to disclose 50 fraudulent domains every Monday, providing timely information to help protect the public from deceitful casino operators.
In its extensive operations, Gamecheck has identified over 8,000 counterfeit gambling products worldwide, with 6,800 of those located in Brazil. The organization's rapid efforts resulted in the discovery of 3,800 fraudulent gambling websites in just a single month, establishing Brazil as the largest counterfeit gambling market in the world.
James Elliott, the founder of Gamecheck, stated, “Brazil has become one of the fastest-growing online casino gaming markets in the world, and rogue operators have moved just as quickly to take advantage of it. Publishing our findings weekly means Brazilian players get a steady, checkable record that they can act on as it happens, not a headline that vanishes from view.”
Fred Azevedo, serving as Gamecheck’s Brand Ambassador for Latin America, emphasized the importance of authenticity in player protection. He remarked, “The conversation around player protection has to begin with authenticity. Before discussing RTP, volatility, or responsible gambling, players deserve to know that the game they are playing is real. If the software cannot be trusted, nothing else about the experience can be trusted either.”
In 2025, Brazil established its regulated online gambling market, positioning itself as one of the fastest-growing jurisdictions for gambling worldwide. The Brazilian Secretariat of Prizes and Bets reported that revenues from licensed operators totaled nearly $7 billion in 2025. Forecasts from H2 Gambling Capital indicate that the market could grow to $10 billion by 2029.
In just a year since the regulation, Brazil has risen to become the fifth largest betting market globally. According to statistics from the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service, regulated operators generated approximately $290 million in tax revenues in January 2026. Gamecheck attributes the surge in fake gambling activities to the rapid expansion of the gaming market, people’s growing reliance on mobile technology, and heightened engagement in online gambling activities.
