In March, Delaware reported a decrease in sports betting by Delaware players. However, the state did report an increase of igaming bets.
The betting handle for February was $3.5m. This is 32.7% less than the $5.2m wagered during the the same month in last year, and 14.6% lower than the $4.1m wagered by in February of this year. The $3.5m in betting handle for the month was 32.7% lower than the $5.2m wagered during the same period last year. It was also 14.6% behind February’s $4.1m.
The sports betting revenue in March 2022 was $544.385, which is only marginally less than the $553.465 of March 2022, and 77.6% more than the $306,573 from February.
Delaware Park retained the top spot, with $299.843 in revenue generated from $1.9m of wagers. Bally’s Dover was second with $150.946 in revenue, followed by Harrington Raceway, with $94,514 from $599.544.
Igaming growth
Online gambling total spending for the month grew 11.0% from February last year, to $41.5m. This is also 9.2% higher than in February of this year. The players wagered $28.0m in video lottery and $13.5m at table games.
Revenue from online gaming reached $1.4m in February, an increase of 27.3% over the previous month and 40.0% higher than March 2022. This total was made up of $1.1m from video lottery games, 42260,395 tables games and $32,152 in poker rakes and fees.
Bally’s Dover topped the market in igaming, with $555 565 in revenue generated from total bets of $14.9m. Delaware Park came in second place with $443.421 from $16.5m of bets. Harrington Raceway was third, with $427.478.
