Bill Hornbuckle shared that MGM Resorts was preparing to start construction on its Osaka IR in Japan. The plans are to begin between the mid- to late 2024.

The exciting news follows the recently concluded licensing agreement between MGM Resorts, Marriott International and other companies that aim to bring visitors to Las Vegas.

Hornbuckle is eager to finish the implementation agreement of their Osaka casino resort during the autumn months. He mentioned:

This journey, although it is still in its early stages, has been going on for over 12 years. In the fall we will be establishing the area development plan. With any luck, construction of the actual groundwork, especially the foundations and the pylons should begin by mid- to late 2024. We aim to open in the year 2030.

The resort will be located on Yumeshima Island. This was originally built in preparation for the 1972 Olympics, but has remained unoccupied until now. Yumeshima Island will host the World Expo 2025. This means that there are already facilities in place to help support MGM Resorts.
