888poker, 888 Holdings’ online poker division, has returned a record amount of money to players in 2022, as part of its fair gambling policy.
A total of $287,292 (PS239,300/EUR269,998) was refunded from accounts that 888poker said had violated its policy on fair play.
A total of 6,801 customers received funds back, an average of $42 per customer. This is 32% more than the detections reported in 2021.
888poker stated that bots and real-time advisor (RTA), which use software programming to give unfair advantage over real-life poker players, are still a major problem in online poker. It has increased its investment in detection capabilities within its network to address this issue.
Operator also stated that it had discovered players conspiring to gain unfair advantage.
Matan Krakow, 888poker’s head for poker offering, stated that “888poker takes the issue of integrity very seriously.” We have increased detection rates of bot accounts, RTA, collusion and given back nearly $290,000. This is due to our continued investments in technology and cooperation with our players.
“We will continue to work on this area in the coming year to ensure our customers have an enjoyable, fair, and safe experience playing with 888poker.”
