Spectrum Gaming Group Report Released Amid Playtech vs. Evolution Legal Dispute

The Spectrum Gaming Group's report from 2022, central to the ongoing legal conflict between major gaming suppliers, has been made public in connection with Evolution's lawsuit against Black Cube. Black Cube, an intelligence agency retained by Playtech in 2020, investigated alleged misconduct at Evolution and produced a report that stirred controversy. Evolution has consistently denied many of Black Cube's claims.

In response to the allegations, Evolution commissioned its own analysis from Spectrum Gaming Group, which examined both its actions and the claims made by Black Cube. Although the report, completed in 2022, remained confidential for an extended period, Evolution suggested that it vindicated its operations.

On Wednesday, Playtech released a statement asserting that the Spectrum report identified compliance issues at Evolution. The report raised “concerns around the availability of Evolution’s games in certain prohibited markets, the regulatory implications of its practices, and the lack of proactive monitoring of its customers.” Nonetheless, Spectrum concluded that it found no evidence suggesting that Evolution had engaged in illegal activities.

A full 68-page version of the report is now available for registered users of the New Jersey court system. An analysis detailing the report’s key findings will be released shortly after.
