Argentina's Online Gambling Tax Revenue Surpasses 2025 Total

In the first nine months of 2026, Argentina's tax revenue from legal online gambling and betting platforms reached $81 million, surpassing the total revenue of $61.25 million for the entire year of 2025. The Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA) documented revenue of ARS 123.856 billion, equivalent to approximately $81 million, for the period spanning January to September 2026. This marks an increase compared to the ARS 93.658 billion reported for the same timeframe in 2025.

According to a report by the consulting firm Empiria, published in El Cronista, this revenue constituted 0.03% of Argentina’s GDP, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 42% in real terms, accounting for an estimated inflation rate of 1.8% in September. Empiria's economist, Lucas Tettamanti, noted that the tax revenue generated over the first nine months of 2026 has already outpaced the total tax revenue for all of 2025.

In September alone, the tax revenue reached approximately ARS 17.255 billion ($11.28 million), showing an increase from August's ARS 16.975 billion, though it fell short of July's high of ARS 17.798 billion, the peak for the year. The ARCA's revenue report includes a category labeled "cash betting," which pertains specifically to taxes on betting activities, including slot games. This category has generated around ARS 56.962 billion ($37.25 million) from January to September 2026.
