Altenar is facilitating Wildz Group's entry into the regulated online betting market in Finland. The Malta-based iGaming operator has distinguished itself as the first to publicly declare that it has acquired an online gambling license in Finland, which will allow it to operate once the market opens next year.
Altenar has been partnering with Wildz Group since 2024, assisting in its shift from a casino-centric model to a more diverse market presence. This expansion into Finland builds upon the successful collaboration, leveraging Altenar’s regional expertise, Nordic trading specialists, and tailored content to enhance the operator's growth strategy.
Sam Brown, CEO of Wildz Group, commented, "Altenar has been central to the success of our global sports betting offering, and we anticipate a superb response in Finland once the market opens in July 2027. With the flexibility of the Altenar toolkit, we will be able to build an industry-leading sports betting experience for Finnish players."
Altenar's COO, Dinos Stranomitis, noted the significance of Finland's transition to a competitive online gambling market, stating, "Entering a new regulated market requires the right technology, flexibility, and a clear understanding of local requirements. We are pleased to power Wildz Group’s entry into Finland and support its ambitions with sportsbook technology designed to adapt to different market conditions and business objectives."
Finland is one of the latest European nations to move away from a state monopoly model, adopting a licensing system for online gambling. The process for applications commenced on March 1, 2026, drawing considerable interest from various operators in anticipation of the upcoming market launch.
For Altenar, this partnership signifies its commitment to delivering sportsbook technology that enables operators to navigate regulated markets while providing the flexibility needed to meet local requirements and long-term business aspirations.
