bet365 has officially launched online sports betting in Washington, D.C., partnering with three prominent professional sports franchises in the city. The British betting operator began accepting bets on Tuesday, September 8, establishing D.C. as its 19th market in the United States, following the recent addition of West Virginia, where it offered sports betting and online casino services starting in late August.

Trip Stoddard, bet365's Head of Development, remarked, "Bringing bet365 to our nation’s capital expands our reach in the U.S. and establishes our presence in one of the country’s most dynamic sports markets."

Available for users aged 18 and over in D.C., bet365 has secured partnerships with Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), making it an official partner of the NBA's Washington Wizards, the NHL's Washington Capitals, and the WNBA's Washington Mystics.

The partnerships will see bet365 enhance its visibility through branding at Capital One Arena, home to the Capitals and Wizards, as well as CareFirst Arena, where the Mystics play. This includes virtual signage during Capitals games and commercials during broadcasts of all three teams.

Additionally, bet365 will be integrated into D.C. fan experiences through the Monumental Sports Network (MNMT), serving as the presenting sponsor of Monumental Game Center. This feature will provide fans with real-time sports betting odds and overlays during live game streams.

Stoddard noted the significance of this collaboration: “Our partnership with Monumental Sports & Entertainment gives us an exciting opportunity to introduce bet365 to Capitals, Wizards, and Mystics fans and build lasting connections across Washington, D.C.”

With the introduction of bet365, the online sportsbook roster in D.C. now includes seven operators, joining BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, Fanatics, FanDuel, and theScore Bet, which was previously known as ESPN Bet. The D.C. betting market expanded in 2024 after the D.C. Council voted to allow multiple licensed sportsbooks following a period of monopoly under Intralot’s Gambet platform and subsequently FanDuel.

This launch marks bet365's fourth new market introduction within the last six months, following entries in Maryland, Virginia, and most recently West Virginia. D.C. represents its fourth new North American market since April 2025, when it launched simultaneous sports betting and online casino options in Michigan, Alberta, and West Virginia. bet365 has pursued an aggressive expansion strategy, having initiated operations in six new U.S. jurisdictions since it joined the Sports Betting Alliance alongside rivals like BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics Sportsbook, and FanDuel.
