Wildz Group's recent acquisition of a Finnish gambling license marks a significant milestone, according to CEO Sam Brown. The company received approval to operate in Finland's upcoming online gambling market, set to launch in July 2027, making it the first operator to announce such approval publicly.
This change comes as Finland undergoes substantial regulatory reform aimed at liberalizing its gambling market, which will allow private operators to participate for the first time. Approximately 80 companies have applied for licenses during this process, with Wildz and Hippos ATG leading the charge as the first to confirm their approvals.
In a conversation with iGB, Brown articulated the company's strategic aspirations for Finland, asserting that this new venture will play a crucial role in Wildz's broader goal of expanding its footprint in regulated markets. The company plans to launch all 11 of its brands in Finland, reinforcing its commitment to the region.
