Moses Swaibu, a prominent advocate against match-fixing in football, is relocating to the United States following the conclusion of the first World Cup in North America in 30 years. For over a decade, Swaibu, a former professional footballer who came up through the Crystal Palace youth academy, has been dedicated to eliminating match manipulation in the sport. He has collaborated with leading figures from top football associations worldwide to create a comprehensive platform for integrity monitoring, which he has named GameChanger360. This organization is touted as the first AI-driven language model specifically aimed at combatting match-fixing.
This week, Swaibu launched the GC360 website during the English Premier League season. The site officially went live on Wednesday, timed with Swaibu's plans to expand his initiative to the US in the upcoming months. His commitment extends beyond monitoring integrity; he aims to educate young players about the dangers of match-fixing and foster a preventative environment.
"GameChanger360 exists because integrity in sport cannot depend on enforcement alone. It must also be built through education, trust, and clear ways for people to raise concerns," Swaibu stated. He reflected on his experiences in professional football, noting the vulnerability of individuals exposed to manipulative tactics without adequate support. Since his conviction in match-fixing, he has dedicated his efforts to promoting education and advocacy to enhance integrity in sports.
Throughout his seven-year senior career, which included a notable three-year tenure at Bromley FC from 2011 to 2013, Swaibu's own admission of involvement in match-fixing led to his 2015 conviction. After serving four months of a 16-month prison sentence, he emerged determined to teach young athletes how to avoid the mistakes that once altered the trajectory of his life.
The GC360 website features two central initiatives: the 360 Report and the 360 Academy. The 360 Academy provides coursework and certifications aimed at helping players and organizations identify and resist manipulation. Meanwhile, the 360 Report includes a confidential reporting tool, empowering players, staff, and other stakeholders to report integrity issues discreetly.
Swaibu's mission has resonated widely, earning him a platform that includes appearances before the UK Parliament. In July, he testified before the House of Lords International Agreements Committee regarding strategies to combat match-fixing and the effective implementation of the Macolin Convention.
In recent months, Swaibu has actively pursued opportunities to establish GameChanger360 in North America. He delivered a presentation at Wembley Stadium to business students from Harvard and participated in a virtual seminar for student-athletes at the University of Minnesota, focusing on methods to fight match-fixing. Swaibu plans to leverage his extensive soccer network to gain a foothold in the US, with intentions to branch into other sports as well. The current landscape seems promising, especially given the recent sports betting scandals that have plagued leagues such as Major League Soccer, the NBA, MLB, and college athletics.
"Today, GC360 is taking an important step forward," stated Swaibu in his announcement. "Our focus is on helping organizations enhance integrity education and provide participants with a clear way to report their concerns."
