Argentina's Online Gambling Tax Revenue Surpasses 2025 Total

During the first three quarters of 2026, Argentina reported tax revenues from legal online betting and gambling that totaled $81 million, surpassing the 2025 total of $61.25 million. The Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA) detailed that the revenue for the period from January to September 2026 reached ARS 123.856 billion (roughly $81 million), an increase from the previous year’s revenue of ARS 93.658 billion.

Consulting firm Empiria estimated that this income represented 0.03% of Argentina's GDP, reflecting a real increase of 42% year-on-year, adjusting for an estimated inflation rate of 1.8% in September. Economist Lucas Tettamanti from Empiria emphasized that the revenue generated from taxes in the first nine months of 2026 already exceeded the total revenue for the entire year of 2025.

In September alone, the tax revenue amounted to ARS 17.255 billion ($11.28 million), up from ARS 16.975 billion in August, though it remained below the July figure of ARS 17.798 billion, which was the highest for the year.

The ARCA's revenue report includes a specific category termed ‘cash betting’, which refers to taxes generated from betting activities, including slot games. This category alone generated approximately ARS 56.962 billion ($37.25 million) from January to September 2026.
