Bets of up to BRL50 ($10) made up about 74% of all betting transactions in Brazil during the second quarter of 2026, according to a new report. Although these low-value bets constituted the majority of transactions, they represented only around 23% of the total financial worth, emphasizing a market largely fueled by smaller wagers.
This information emerged from a quarterly report by Paag, a technology firm specializing in data analytics for the regulated betting market. The study analyzed transactions conducted within Paag’s customer base between April and June 2026, offering valuable insights into player behavior and market dynamics in Brazil.
The data reveals that transactions under R$20 ($4) accounted for about 45% of the total transaction volume, but only 8% of the overall financial value. Bets ranging from R$20 to R$50 ($4 to $10) comprised around 29% of transactions and contributed 15% of the total financial value. These figures suggest that frequent betting is closely associated with consistent low-value deposits by users.
On the other hand, wagers exceeding R$50 ($10) constituted approximately 77% of the total financial value for the quarter. Within this higher segment, transactions between R$50 and R$1,000 ($10 to $200) made up 57% of the volume, while bets over R$1,000 ($200) accounted for roughly 20% of the funds despite being less than 1% of total transactions.
“Analyzing this data is crucial for understanding not only the sector's trajectory but also where improvements can be made concerning both operational efficiency and bettor safety,” remarked João Fraga, CEO of Paag. “Today, the data establishes market predictability from an operational standpoint, revealing clear patterns dominated by micro-transactions.”
The analysis also indicates that player activities peak between the 8th and 20th of each month, with the highest bet volume and value recorded around the 20th. Notably, most betting transactions occur during evening hours, with 39% happening between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Users aged 25 to 49 contribute to about 80% of the total financial volume. São Paulo remains the leading market for betting activity in terms of both transaction volume and value. Additionally, the South and Centre-West regions show higher average transaction values, while the North and Northeast regions are driving the growth of the user base.
