BC.GAME Launches Sports Betting and Casino in Ghana

BC.GAME has officially launched its sports betting and online casino services in Ghana, following regulatory approval from the Gaming Commission of Ghana, the nation's gambling authority. This significant announcement came on Wednesday, marking the company's expansion into its third regulated market, having previously entered Mexico and Nigeria earlier this year.

The platform is now accessible at bcgame.com.gh, representing a strategic move by BC.GAME towards its goals for regulated growth. Adrian Chen, the company's senior legal counsel, emphasized the importance of this development, highlighting that Ghana's established regulatory framework provides a solid foundation for operations.

"Entering the market in accordance with local licensing requirements represents an important step in BC.GAME’s regulated growth strategy," Chen remarked. He added, "Our focus is to operate transparently and responsibly, provide clear information to local users, and ensure that our products and operational processes remain aligned with applicable Ghanaian requirements. We look forward to building a sustainable, long-term presence in the market."

BC.GAME identified Ghana as a promising market due to its robust regulatory structure, a highly connected populace, and a vibrant football and digital entertainment environment. To cater specifically to the Ghanaian audience, the company has tailored its local operations to enhance accessibility.

According to data from H2 Gambling Capital, Ghana's online gross win is projected to reach $903.5 million in 2025, showing a 24% increase from the previous year’s total of $729.8 million. While the African gambling landscape is traditionally dominated by South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya, Ghana is rapidly positioning itself as a key player. African iGaming Alliance CEO Peter Kesitilwe noted Ghana's solid regulatory foundations and its appeal as a desirable market for investors.

"Ghana has developed a reputation as one of West Africa’s most stable and commercially attractive markets," Kesitilwe stated. "It is trying to improve its regulatory maturity. The other key thing is political stability because policymakers are the ones attracting investors. So many operators now see Ghana as an important strategic growth market within the region."

BC.GAME's entry into Ghana follows the introduction of Kaizen Gaming’s Betano brand in the country earlier this year.

However, the operator has faced controversies, notably withdrawing its licence in Curaçao in December due to what it described as an "increasingly hostile" operating environment. This came after a court ruling in November declared BC.GAME bankrupt for failing to meet its payment obligations to players. The company also lost its white label licence in the UK, raising concerns regarding its sponsorship agreement with Leicester City, an English football club. In response to the bankruptcy claim, BC.GAME asserted it had no liquidity or financial stability issues and continues to expand globally into new regulated markets.
