Phil Walker Named Interim CEO of Allwyn UK Following Andria Vidler's Departure

Allwyn UK has announced a change at the top, with Andria Vidler stepping down as the chief executive. Phil Walker has been appointed to take over as the interim chief executive, effective September 7, while the company initiates the search for a permanent successor.

Vidler has been part of Allwyn UK since it secured the Fourth National Lottery license in October 2023, guiding the company through its early development phases. Her departure was agreed upon with the chairman of Allwyn UK, but no specific reasons have been disclosed. Additionally, a timeline for the appointment of a new CEO remains unclear.

As Walker begins his interim role, he will oversee the company's National Lottery operations and play a crucial role in the next steps of its licensing process. Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Walker stated, "I am excited and proud to be taking up the baton from Andria and joining such a vital national institution at this important stage of its growth journey. As a long-standing National Lottery player, I know first-hand the difference that it makes to communities across the UK. This is a huge part of what attracted me to the role. It will be a real honour to help build on the progress already made."

Walker will commence his duties following a transition period, although the exact duration of his interim position and the timeline for selecting a permanent leader have yet to be disclosed.
