Playtech has expressed apprehension regarding the findings detailed in the recently unveiled Spectrum Report, which highlights that Evolution's games are available in markets where they are banned. The report raises significant questions, particularly due to gaps in data concerning Iran, Syria, and Sudan.
The Spectrum Report was produced in response to concerns brought to light by Black Cube, which is involved in ongoing litigation against Evolution. Playtech pointed out that although Evolution previously claimed the report exonerated it, the company has refrained from publicly sharing the document, citing worries over confidential financial information.
Reports suggest that Spectrum has validated some of Black Cube's assertions regarding the presence of Evolution's games in prohibited markets, along with the regulatory risks associated with such operations. However, the report noted that Spectrum lacked sufficient information to determine whether any gaming activities had occurred in Iran, Syria, and Sudan.
The ambiguity surrounding these markets hindered Spectrum's ability to conduct crucial aspects of its inquiry. Consequently, the report emphasizes that uncertainties remain regarding the availability of Evolution's games in these restricted areas.
Additionally, the document addresses Evolution's monitoring practices concerning operators utilizing its gaming products. Spectrum concluded that Evolution "does not take any proactive action" to ensure compliance with contractual terms by these operators.
Playtech stated that the report substantiates its worries about Evolution's compliance measures. Spectrum's assessment categorized the issues as "problematic" and suggested that they may place Evolution in a precarious situation with law enforcement agencies.
Moreover, Playtech reaffirmed its commitment to proceeding with the initial investigation by Black Cube and anticipates court hearings that will address the credibility and validity of the concerns raised in the investigation.
