Gauselmann was a prominent figure in the international gaming industry, significantly influencing its growth and development. His unwavering support for the International Casino Exhibition (ICE) helped facilitate its transition from London to Barcelona in 2025.
Gauselmann embodied the core traits of entrepreneurship—drive, creativity, vision, and empathy—essential to the industry’s framework. He transformed his small business into a multinational corporation, employing over 15,000 people and generating revenues exceeding €2 billion. His legacy will also be remembered for fostering positive change and demonstrating kindness towards others.
A strong advocate for philanthropy, Gauselmann backed a variety of initiatives in social welfare, culture, sports, and health. His commitment to social responsibility earned him the honorary citizenship of Espelkamp and Lübbecke in 2004, in addition to the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class, which he received from the German President in 2003.
With more than 38 years in the industry, Gauselmann served as chairman of the board for the Association of the German Vending Machine Industry (Verband der Deutschen Automatenindustrie e.V.) for 28 years, playing a pivotal role in elevating the sector to a key economic player.
