Following the merger that established Veikkaus in 2017, he transitioned to the role of Deputy CEO, overseeing public affairs, corporate responsibility, and communications.
As Veikkaus gets ready for the next phase of reforms in Finland’s gambling market, Nummikoski's exit will mark the end of an era for the state-owned operator. He has played a crucial role in guiding the company through a strategic evolution alongside CEO Olli Sarekoski, particularly as the operator prepares for a more competitive regulatory environment.
In a statement, Sarekoski expressed his appreciation for Nummikoski’s long and accomplished career at Veikkaus, highlighting both his extensive experience and his contributions to corporate development, especially in public relations and responsibility initiatives. "I started as RAY’s CEO in 2012 at a time when digitalisation was starting to change the gambling industry. It has been a great privilege to work in the midst of this transformation," he said.
