On Monday, Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) announced the appointment of industry veteran Gavin Isaacs to its board in an advisory role, a decision that awaits regulatory review and approval.
Gavin Isaacs, known for his extensive experience spanning over 25 years in gaming, iGaming, sports betting, and lotteries, will join GLI alongside representatives from CVC Capital Partners, a private equity firm. Though GLI has categorized his role as advisory, details regarding the effective start date, compensation, and any equity arrangements related to Isaacs’ appointment have not been disclosed.
Isaacs has had a distinguished career, holding senior executive and board positions and playing pivotal roles in mergers and acquisitions exceeding $10 billion in value. His experience includes serving on the board of Galaxy Gaming and a brief tenure as CEO of Entain, which lasted five months. In recognition of his significant contributions to the industry, he was inducted into the American Gaming Association Hall of Fame in 2022.
Excited about his new position, Isaacs shared, "I am excited to join the board of GLI as it embarks on its next stage of growth. I look forward to working with James Maida and CVC as we build upon the incredible business built by James and his team over the past 37 years."
This announcement comes on the heels of GLI's investment agreement with CVC Capital Partners disclosed in June, through which CVC’s Strategic Opportunities division invested in GLI and its affiliates, aiming to bolster the company’s global growth and long-term strategy. James Maida, GLI’s CEO, praised Isaacs’ depth of experience, stating, "I am thrilled that Gavin is joining the GLI board… Gavin’s decades of experience, vision and history of innovation make him a perfect partner as we move forward."
