Entain has announced a new virtual reality sports betting and gaming experience, developed in collaboration with Verizon Media. Marking its first VR ‘sports club’ offering, this product will soon be available for users of the Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset. Once launched, customers will be able to engage with various VR experiences across Entain's international portfolio.

Sandeep Tiku, the chief operating officer of Entain, remarked, "We continually offer our customers a wide range of innovative and exciting experiences, and VR is an exciting opportunity for us to innovate in new ways." This new venture will feature live streaming of football matches, multiplayer games, and music, as the company aims to provide a fully immersive experience.

Tiku further emphasized the importance of enhancing consumer engagement: "We know consumers are looking for more multi-dimensional experiences, in which the ability to place a bet is only one of the ways they want to enjoy themselves. So we want to wow them and give them better experiences than they’ve ever had before – and at the same time also use our cutting-edge technology to keep our players safe."

In financial news, Entain reported a 13% drop in revenue in the first quarter of 2021, largely due to retail closures. However, the company experienced significant growth in its online operations, with a 47% increase in sports betting revenue and a 23% rise in online gaming revenue.
