ProphetX is intensifying its focus on sports prediction markets through a new partnership with Players’ Lounge, a skill-based gaming platform. This collaboration will introduce event contracts that allow Players' Lounge users to engage in trading real-world sports outcomes directly within the platform.

Players’ Lounge has a massive user base that competes for cash on popular games including Call of Duty, Fortnite, NBA 2K, and Madden NFL. With this integration, eligible users in applicable U.S. jurisdictions can now participate in prediction markets for various sports, including NFL game results, NBA player props, tournament brackets, and championship futures.

Austin Woolridge, the CEO of Players’ Lounge, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that “Prediction markets on ProphetX are a perfect fit for what Players’ Lounge is all about: putting your knowledge to work in a fair, skill-driven environment.” He added, “We’re excited to give our community a regulated, exchange-based way to trade on the games they care about most.”

ProphetX, which rebranded last November to focus on sports prediction markets after previously acting as a sweepstakes platform, gained approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) last month to operate as a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and a Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO). Its aim is to establish itself as a prominent B2B supplier of sports-based event contracts to brokerages and exchanges.

CEO Dean Sisun shared future plans, stating that ProphetX aims to model its services akin to the approaches seen with Kalshi-Robinhood and former partnerships like Crypto.com with Underdog. He underscored confidence in their sports event contracts, stating, “We cannot currently do crypto, political markets and economic indicators better than Kalshi. We can do sports better, so we will lead with sports.”

It's important to note that Players’ Lounge is not registered with the CFTC as a DCM or with the National Futures Association (NFA) as a futures commission merchant (FCM), introducing broker (IB), or any other intermediary. Sisun emphasized that ProphetX’s model differs significantly from traditional sportsbooks, despite similarities in user engagement.

Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer Jake Benzaquen reiterated this distinction regarding the new partnership, affirming that ProphetX’s offerings should not be viewed as “sports betting dressed up in new clothes.” He elaborated, “Players’ Lounge has built something genuinely rare: a platform where a new generation of sports fans already shows up, competes, and has real money on the line. That community deserves access to the most competitive, transparent markets on the planet — and that’s exactly what ProphetX provides.” He concluded by highlighting the unique nature of their platform, noting, “This isn’t sports betting dressed up in new clothes. It’s a federal exchange where the crowd sets the price and every participant is on a level playing field.
