Tim Miller, the Executive Director of Research and Policy at the Gambling Commission, announced his departure in September. In his role, Miller led the Commission's policy and research efforts, including the implementation of the Government’s Gambling White Paper. He developed the Gambling Survey for Great Britain and played a key role in the comprehensive Gambling Act Review, which was finalized last year along with its report. In a recent LinkedIn post, Miller reflected on his time at the Commission, stating, "The Commission has been the most enjoyable and fulfilling part of my career so far, and I’ve been so lucky to work with such brilliant people who care deeply about getting regulation right. But for me, ten years always felt like the right point to take on a new challenge." Miller has been with the regulator since 2016 and will transition to an international advisory role that will not involve the UK regulatory sector. He mentioned, "I’ve always been a public servant but am now looking forward to working for myself. This is going to include working internationally with a number of governments, regulators, and organisations that are focused on supporting the development of well-regulated and competitive markets. More on that later in September after my last day at the Commission." The Commission confirmed that Miller will remain in his current position until the end of September, after which details about his successor will be announced.
