Online growth boosts Lithuanian revenue to EUR161m for the first nine months

The gross gambling revenue in Lithuania grew by 15.2% on an annual basis to EUR161.0m ($172.1m/PS140.8m) over the nine-month period ending 30 September. This growth was driven by the remote gaming sector.

The revenue was higher by a comfortable margin than $139.8m in the same time period of last year. Gaming Control Authority (GCA), which oversees the gambling industry in Lithuania, has seen growth on both online and offline markets.

Remote gambling was the leader with EUR107.0m GGR. This is up by 24.4% compared to EUR86.0m in last year. The GGR for land-based gambling also increased by 0.4%, to EUR54.0m.

Lithuanian online slot revenue surpasses EUR72m

The most profitable online slot machines during this period were those that generated revenue. The GGR of Category A slots increased by 33.7% to $69.5m while the GGR for Category B slots increased by 18.2%, reaching EUR2.6m.

The total GGR generated by online slots for the period under review was EUR72,1m.

Table games GGR increased 63.0%, to EUR8.8m.

Land-based market grows… just

In the land-based slot machine sector, Category B machines topped the list with EUR22.9m GGR. This is still 3.0% less than the EUR23.6m that was reported in 2022.

The revenue for the Category A slot machines increased by 13,0%, to EUR11.3m.

The gross gaming revenue (GGR) for land-based games fell 3.2% to EUR12.9m, while retail sports betting revenues dropped 10.5% to EUR6.8m.

Lithuania Lottery Revenue Growth

Separate figures were also reported by the Gaming Control Authority for all lotteries played during nine-month period.

The total revenue increased by 15.5% to EUR46.3m, despite the 7.4% drop in ticket sales. The player winnings also decreased by 2.9% to EUR55.7m.

The figures include operators who offer larger lotteries in Lithuania.
