The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) in Brazil has announced the immediate suspension of fourteen licensed betting sites for failing to meet their reporting obligations and adhere to responsible gambling regulations. This action follows the commencement of sanction procedures in August 2025, during which the SPA implemented seven preventive measures aimed at safeguarding citizens as the investigation is underway.
Affected operators must halt all gambling operations but are permitted to withdraw funds from their accounts, though they are prohibited from engaging in any other financial activities. Non-compliance with SPA orders could result in a daily fine of BRL 200,000.
Five of the precautionary measures are related to issues with information handling through Sigap, Brazil’s gambling management system, which allows the SPA to monitor betting activity, revenue, and regulatory compliance in real time. The remaining two measures pertain to failures in establishing systems for the monitoring, controlling, and evaluation of players as mandated by Brazil’s responsible gambling standards.
Pixbet Soluções Tecnológicas has faced two precautionary suspensions affecting three of its sites—pixbet.bet.br, ganhei.bet.br, and betdasorte.bet.br—due to non-compliance with responsible gambling regulations. In addition, Zeroumbet Digital Platform, which operates zeroum.bet.br, sportvip.bet.br, and energia.bet.br, has been sanctioned for not providing necessary information for SPA oversight.
Enseada Serviços e Tecnologia has been instructed to cease operations of kbet.bet.br because it failed to submit required documentation to the regulatory body. Similarly, Select Operations, managing mma.bet.br, betvip.bet.br, and papigames.bet.br, neglected to provide requested information. Nexus International, overseeing megaposta.bet.br, also did not supply the requisite documents via Sigap for its regulated activities. RR Participações e Intermediações de Negócios, responsible for multibet.bet.br, rico.bet.br, and brx.bet.br, has not presented necessary documentation regarding its ownership structure, which hampers the SPA’s ability to verify various compliance matters.
This latest action underscores the SPA’s commitment to enforcing oversight in Brazil's regulated betting sector, particularly emphasizing the need for timely reporting and responsible gambling measures.
