Spectrum Gaming Group's 2022 Report Unveiled in Playtech vs Evolution Case

The 2022 report by Spectrum Gaming Group, central to the ongoing legal battle between prominent gaming suppliers Playtech and Evolution, has been made public in connection with Evolution's lawsuit against Black Cube.

Black Cube, an intelligence agency engaged by Playtech in 2020, prepared a controversial report accusing Evolution of misconduct, which Evolution strongly disputed. In response, Evolution commissioned Spectrum Gaming Group to investigate its operations and assess the accuracy of Black Cube's claims. Although the Spectrum report was completed in 2022, it remained confidential until now, with Evolution asserting that the findings vindicated the company.

On Wednesday, Playtech released a statement citing alleged compliance issues within Evolution, as indicated in the Spectrum report. This document highlighted concerns regarding the accessibility of Evolution's games in restricted markets, the regulatory consequences of its practices, and the adequacy of its customer monitoring efforts.

Despite these concerns, the Spectrum report concluded that Evolution had not engaged in illegal activities.

For those interested, iGB has published the entire 68-page Spectrum report, which is available for registered users of the New Jersey court system to access. A subsequent analysis discussing the key aspects of the report will be forthcoming.
