SmartSoft has officially become a Gold Supplier Member of the African iGaming Alliance (AiA), reflecting its commitment to advancing the gambling landscape in Africa. This partnership was announced on Tuesday, highlighting a mutual focus on promoting sustainable, responsible gambling within regulated markets across the continent.
SmartSoft has already established a notable footprint in Africa, previously co-hosting the iGB L!VE Africa Summit this past July. With this new membership, the company plans to engage in various activities, including regulatory dialogues, strategic roundtables, and collaborative research initiatives alongside other gaming operators and suppliers.
Guram Gotsadze, CEO of SmartSoft, explained that joining the AiA underscores the company’s intensified efforts in Africa, indicating its pledge to nurture regulated and sustainable gaming markets. "Africa is an important and growing part of SmartSoft's international strategy, and joining the African iGaming Alliance represents an important step in strengthening our long-term commitment to the continent," Gotsadze stated.
Peter Kesitilwe, CEO of AiA, remarked that SmartSoft’s existing presence in African markets positions it well to address various challenges and opportunities within the industry, including B2B licensing and responsible gaming. "We look forward to working with their team on issues ranging from B2B licensing and market access to responsible gaming, channelisation and sustainable regulation," Kesitilwe said.
The AiA emphasized that this partnership aligns with its mission to foster constructive dialogue among industry stakeholders as the gambling market in Africa evolves. Kesitilwe stated, "Our aim is to create an environment in which regulators, operators and suppliers can engage constructively on the opportunities and challenges facing the industry across the continent."
This commitment to collaboration was notably present during the recent inaugural Africa Safer Gambling Week, which was hosted by the AiA. Kesitilwe highlighted that a key theme of the event was to cultivate ongoing collaboration, focusing on translating discussions surrounding safer gambling into actionable measures. He remarked, "The initiative demonstrates that cooperation does not have to remain at the level of conference and policy discussion. It has to translate into practical action, educating players, engaging communities, protecting young people and highlighting the dangers of illegal and unlicensed gambling.",
