Codere Online revealed on Thursday that it has entered a multi-year partnership with the National Football League (NFL) to become the official betting partner in Mexico. This announcement coincides with the kickoff of the NFL season in the United States.
As part of this collaboration, Codere Online gains sponsorship rights for major NFL events, including the upcoming Super Bowl LXI and the NFL Mexico Game. The latter is scheduled to take place on November 22, 2026, in Mexico City, featuring the San Francisco 49ers against the Minnesota Vikings.
The agreement further encompasses planned activations around the 2027 Super Bowl set to be held in Los Angeles. These activities will offer hospitality programs, VIP experiences, events in various Mexican cities, and opportunities for Codere Online’s customers to access official NFL merchandise.
Carlos Sabanza, director of sponsorships and public relations at Codere Online, commented, "This agreement strengthens our premium positioning while underlining our long-term commitment to Mexico, a market with an extraordinary passion for the NFL.”
With this partnership, Codere Online aims to utilize high-profile live events to enhance customer engagement and provide unique experiences for fans.
This deal is part of Codere Online's broader strategy as it continues to gain momentum in its home market of Mexico, which is among the NFL's key markets outside of the United States. The company reported that Mexico was its largest market in the second quarter, generating €36.1 million in net gaming revenue (NGR), representing a 24% increase from the previous year. Chief Executive Aviv Sher emphasized the company's ongoing commitment to investing in this competitive landscape.
In a prior interview, Sher discussed the regulatory uncertainties that pose challenges in Mexico. He remarked, "Right now we are working based on a framework of laws which you cannot even call regulation, from 1947. So it’s very hard to work long-term and to give long-term commitments. While the future is unclear in terms of regulation, we saw what happened in other countries in LatAm when they changed the regulation every other month. In Mexico, I think we are stable, we know how to deal with this market. Of course, we will be very happy if in the future, a proper regulatory framework will be introduced and not the way that we are working right now.”
