bet365, a prominent British gaming operator, marked its ongoing expansion in the U.S. by launching its online sports betting and iGaming services in West Virginia on Thursday. This latest move represents the third new market the company has entered in North America since April.

With this launch, West Virginia becomes the 18th state to feature bet365's online sports betting, and it is also the fourth state where the operator provides online casino gaming. The company obtained an interim license in January, followed by full approval on July 29, according to licensing documents from the West Virginia Lottery.

Residents of West Virginia aged 21 or older can now place bets in time for the upcoming college football and NFL seasons. bet365 is bringing several of its core features, including the Early Payout Offer, which automatically settles qualifying bets as winners when a football team establishes a 17-point lead. Additionally, it introduces Jackpot365, a multi-tier progressive jackpot feature that is integrated directly within its betslip and casino games.

Trip Stoddard, bet365’s Head of Development, commented, "West Virginia represents another important step in bet365’s continued expansion across North America. As we grow our presence across the region, our focus remains on bringing customers the quality, depth and functionality that define the bet365 platform. With football season just around the corner, it’s an exciting time to introduce our sportsbook and casino offerings to customers across the state."

The introduction of bet365 means that West Virginia now boasts 10 licensed online sports wagering operators, which include:
– bet365
– BetRivers
– BetMGM
– Caesars
– DraftKings
– Ember Casino & Sportsbook
– Fanatics
– FanDuel
Kambi
– theScore Bet

Most of these operators also provide online casino services in West Virginia, some through multiple brands. For instance, PENN Entertainment, which owns theScore, launched its Hollywood Casino app in the state last year, and Caesars operates both its flagship app and Horseshoe Casino. DraftKings also offers its iGaming services through Golden Nugget Online Gaming.

Stoddard noted the significant growth bet365 has achieved in North America recently. In total, this launch marks the sixth new market for bet365 on the continent in the past 13 months, following expansions into Kansas and Maryland in August 2025, Missouri in December 2025, and Michigan (both sports and casino) in April 2026. Earlier this year, bet365 also initiated online sports betting in Illinois and Tennessee.

The expansion into West Virginia reflects bet365's commitment to enhancing its presence in regulated U.S. markets, having invested approximately $135 million to establish a new 120,000-square-foot headquarters in Denver. Additionally, the company joined the Sports Betting Alliance (SBA) in June 2025 and launched a targeted marketing campaign called "Winning Is Everything" in March 2026, aimed at U.S. and Canadian bettors.

There is speculation that bet365 may look to enter the Massachusetts market as well. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) voted unanimously in April to reopen the state's sports betting license application process, following a direct request from bet365. However, the operator did not provide any comment regarding its plans for Massachusetts when approached for clarification.
