Stake Brasil Secures Provisional Court Injunction for Betting Authorization

Stake Brasil has successfully obtained a provisional court injunction that allows it to maintain its betting authorization in Brazil as stipulated by the Federal Court of São Paulo. This decision, made by the 9th Federal Civil Court of São Paulo, grants Stake Brasil a partial preliminary injunction against Provisional Measure 1,394/2026. The court’s ruling ensures that Stake Brasil can continue its operations in fixed-odds betting in Brazil until 25 October 2026.

As part of the decision, Stake Brasil's authorization to operate remains valid, and its website, stake.bet.br, is safeguarded from being blocked or redirected. Additionally, the company will not face sanctions for complying with the court's established conditions. To date, Stake Brasil believes it is the first licensed operator to achieve such a ruling.

This court decision is seen as a critical affirmation of legal certainty for businesses that operate under governmental authorization and oversight. Stake Brasil emphasizes the importance of acknowledging operators that have met regulatory responsibilities, including paying requisite authorization fees and investing in the regulated market.

The company underscores that this ruling supports the need for legal certainty and regulatory stability, especially for entities that have adhered to public authority requirements. Stake Brasil also highlights consumer protection as a primary advantage of a regulated betting market, asserting that clear regulations, responsible gambling measures, and supervision by public authorities are vital for effective consumer safety. Since the introduction of the Provisional Measure, Stake Brasil has diligently complied with all mandated obligations.
