Q2 2026 Betting Trends in Brazil: Dominance of Low-Value Bets

During the second quarter of 2026, bets of up to BRL50 (approximately $10) comprised around 74% of all transactions on betting platforms in Brazil. Not only did this group make up the majority of transactions, but it also accounted for about 23% of the total financial value, highlighting the dominance of low-value wagers within the market.

This information is drawn from a quarterly report by Paag, a technology firm that specializes in data intelligence for regulated sectors. The report analyzed transactions from April to June 2026 across its client base, offering insights into player behavior and market dynamics in Brazil.

In more detail, transactions up to BRL20 (about $4) represented roughly 45% of the transaction volume, albeit contributing just 8% to the overall financial value. Bets ranging from R$20 to R$50 (or $4 to $10) constituted around 29% of all transactions and 15% of the total value processed. These findings indicate a correlation between frequent betting and low-value deposits made regularly by users.

On the other hand, bets over R$50 ($10) accounted for about 77% of the total financial value processed in this quarter, with transactions between R$50 and R$1,000 ($10 and $200) making up 57% of that amount. Interestingly, while bets over R$1,000 ($200) represented less than 1% of all transactions, they contributed roughly 20% of the total funds flowing through the platforms.

João Fraga, CEO of Paag, emphasized the importance of analyzing this data: "Analysing this data is crucial for understanding not only the sector's trajectory but also where improvements can be made – regarding both actual operations and bettor safety and protection. Today, the data establishes market predictability from an operational standpoint, revealing clear patterns dominated by micro-transactions."

The analysis also revealed peak player activity between the 8th and 20th of each month, with the highest user engagement noted from the 16th to the 22nd. The 20th was particularly noteworthy, marking the highest participation in both transaction volume and financial value, while activity gradually declined at the month’s end.

Evening hours accounted for the majority of bets, with 39% of transactions occurring between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Individuals aged 25 to 49 contributed approximately 80% of the total financial volume. São Paulo emerged as the central hub for operations, leading the market in transaction volume and value. Meanwhile, the South and Centre-West regions recorded the highest average transaction values, and the North and Northeast regions continued to see growth in their user base.
