During the second quarter of 2026, bets of up to BRL50 (about $10) comprised approximately 74% of all betting transactions on platforms in Brazil. While these low-value bets made up the majority of transactions, they represented roughly 23% of the total financial value processed, highlighting the predominance of small wagers in the country’s betting landscape.
This information stems from a quarterly report by Paag, a technology firm focused on data intelligence for regulated markets. The analysis covered transactions among the company's clientele from April to June 2026, shedding light on player behaviors and trends in the Brazilian betting market.
Specifically, transactions of up to R$20 ($4) accounted for roughly 45% of the transaction volume, although they only made up about 8% of the total financial value. Bets ranging between R$20 and R$50 ($4 and $10) comprised around 29% of transactions and contributed 15% to the overall financial tally. This data indicates that frequent, low-value deposits are common among users.
In contrast, transactions exceeding R$50 ($10) represented about 77% of the financial value processed during the quarter. Bets between R$50 and R$1,000 ($10 and $200) accounted for 57% of this overall value, while wagers surpassing R$1,000 ($200), although making up less than 1% of transactions, still represented approximately 20% of the total funds flowing through the platforms.
João Fraga, CEO of Paag, remarked, "Analysing this data is crucial for understanding not only the sector's trajectory but also where improvements can be made – regarding both actual operations and bettor safety and protection. Today, the data establishes market predictability from an operational standpoint, revealing clear patterns dominated by micro-transactions."
Player engagement peaked between the 8th and 20th of each month, especially between the 16th and 22nd. The 20th emerged as a standout day, showcasing the highest volume and value of transactions for the quarter, while activity tapered off towards the month’s end.
Evening hours saw the majority of betting activity, with 39% of transactions occurring from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Users aged 25 to 49 accounted for about 80% of the total financial volume, with São Paulo remaining the leading operational hub in terms of both transaction volume and value. The South and Centre-West regions displayed the highest average transaction values, in contrast to the North and Northeast regions, which continued to expand their user base.
