During the first CasinoBeats Malta event in June, Simon Hammon, the chief product officer at Relax Gaming, emphasized the significance of industry gatherings as a way to gauge sentiment regarding regulation, content, and the competitive landscape among operators and suppliers. Hammon was part of a panel that included Alex Cohen, COO and co-founder of Kalamba Games; David Flynn, CEO of Swintt; Ewa Kazmierska, COO of LVBet; James Ford, head of casino at LeoVegas; and Kim Larsen, an igaming consultant at Agrippa Consulting. They engaged in discussions about innovation and the necessity of it within the industry.
Hammon remarked that the most engaging aspect of the panel was the discussion itself, stating, “It’s a very hot topic in the industry, and I think we’re suffering from a lot of the problems that were raised in that room.” He appreciated the diverse perspectives from both operators and suppliers, noting, “I like the dynamic of the operator and supplier input.”
When asked about the CasinoBeats Malta event's role in fostering dialogue on innovation, Hammon said, “Events such as this are very important…they encourage discussionary topics which you might already be having behind closed doors.” He referred to these events as a means to obtain a broader perspective on market sentiment, describing them as a successful way to calibrate industry feelings. “They draw the kind of discussion as to where the market is heading, and so I think that’s a key thing for these events.”
