New Jersey Achieves Record Gambling Revenue in June

New Jersey's gambling revenue reached a record high in June, totaling $374.2 million. This figure surpasses the previous record of $364.0 million set in July 2010 and represents a 4.9% increase compared to May 2023's revenue. Strong performance across all three sectors—land-based casinos, online gaming, and sports betting—drove this growth.

Land-based casinos contributed significantly, generating $214.5 million for the month. Of this amount, slot machines accounted for $154.1 million and table games for $60.4 million. The return to full operational capacity for casinos this June, after previous closures due to the pandemic in 2020, played a key role in this achievement.

Online gaming also showed robust numbers, bringing in $107.1 million, which marks a 26.1% increase year-over-year. However, peer-to-peer games like poker experienced a decline, generating $2.2 million—a drop of 37.5%. In contrast, revenue from other authorized online games reached $104.8 million, representing a significant 28.8% increase over 2020 levels.
