Leadership Changes in U.S. Gaming: Sportradar, Bragg Gaming, and More

As April comes to a close, the U.S. commercial gaming industry has seen notable leadership changes throughout the month. SBC Americas is highlighting several important moves in North American gaming this week.

Sportradar has appointed Sameer Deen as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective May 18. Deen joins the organization after nearly five years at Entain, where he held multiple roles, including Group Chief Commercial Officer and President. Deen also brings significant media experience, having worked as a director at NBCUniversal and an executive at Univision.

Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl expressed enthusiasm about Deen's addition to the team, stating, "With his expertise in sports betting and digital media, combined with a proven ability to scale businesses and build top-performing teams, he is well-positioned to drive and optimize our commercial operations and partnerships forward." Deen will report directly to Koerl and is expected to play a critical role in enhancing the company's commercial efforts.

In other news, Doug Fallon, the former Director of Content at Bragg Gaming Group, has launched a new gaming studio named Beyond Wild Games, following his departure from Bragg after ten years. Fallon previously founded Wild Streak Gaming, which was acquired by Bragg for $30 million in 2021. He expressed pride in his team's achievements and mentioned the launch of over 90 titles while at Bragg. Fallon looks forward to developing and scaling his new content startup in gaming, stating, "I remain deeply passionate about this industry and excited to begin the next chapter with our new studio."

Ainsworth Game Technology has brought Matt Smith on board as Vice President of Marketing and Product Strategy. In this role, Smith will lead the company's marketing and product strategy operations in North America. Smith comes to Ainsworth after an eight-year tenure at IGT, where he served as Director of Premium Product Management. Ainsworth Acting CEO Ryan Comstock acknowledged Smith's unique combination of operator insight and product leadership as a valuable asset to the company.

Hard Rock International has promoted Morgan Lexis to Senior Vice President of Global Sales. Lexis previously held the role of VP of Sales since 2024. In her new capacity, she will oversee global sales for Hard Rock's 30 properties. COO Jeff Hook praised Lexis for her remarkable contributions and extensive knowledge of the Las Vegas market, noting that her experience positions her well to lead global sales strategy moving forward.

Finally, the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) has appointed Dan Keene as its permanent CEO. Keene initially joined as interim CEO in January and is set to guide AiGC as Alberta transitions to a commercial iGaming marketplace later this year. Previously, Keene served as the VP of Gaming at Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis, which will regulate online gaming in the province.
