DraftKings Receives Arkansas Sports Betting License Approval

The Arkansas Racing Commission has played a crucial role in enabling DraftKings to launch its online sportsbook in partnership with Southland Casino Hotel. The company awaits final regulatory approvals before it can officially start operations. The sportsbook is set to debut after the signing of a market access agreement between DraftKings and Southland Casino Hotel. With this expansion, DraftKings Sportsbook will now be accessible to over 2 million adults in Arkansas. The company announced that this rollout brings its products within reach of 53% of the U.S. population.

Gregory Karamitis, DraftKings' Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sports, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, "We’re excited to team up with Southland Casino Hotel to bring DraftKings’ top-rated mobile sportsbook to Arkansas and introduce fans to our best-in-class sports betting offering. As March Madness approaches and several major sports are underway, we look forward to serving Arkansas customers with innovative features, including our No. 1 live betting experience and a continued commitment to responsible gaming."

Once the platform goes live, eligible DraftKings customers in Arkansas will have access to a variety of betting options through the mobile sportsbook app. They will be able to engage with features such as same-game parlays, in-play wagers, boosted odds, and numerous other betting opportunities. Additionally, the platform includes responsible gambling tools for players.

With Arkansas's inclusion, DraftKings will be offering regulated sports betting across 30 states in the U.S. The company also holds licenses for sports wagering in Washington D.C., Ontario, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Last month, DraftKings launched its online sportsbook for eligible customers in Puerto Rico, enhancing the digital betting landscape on the island after opening a physical sportsbook at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino in November. Access to the mobile platform is limited to residents of Puerto Rico, who must register at the casino to utilize the digital sportsbook features.
