Esportes Gaming Brasil (EGB), the organization behind brands like Esportes da Sorte, Onabet, and Lottu, has been recognized with a nomination for the Global Gaming Awards Americas 2026. This prestigious recognition places EGB in the running for the Responsible Business of the Year category due to its impactful Costura Cidadã (Citizen Sewing) project, initiated during the Olinda Carnival.
The project aims to generate income, develop skills, and bolster the local creative economy. It stands out as the centerpiece of a broader range of social and environmental efforts the company implemented during the 2026 Carnival festivities. Over 80 local women have benefited from training in sewing and textile production, allowing them to create Carnival-related items, including the event's official banner. This initiative not only fosters employment opportunities but also enhances the financial independence of participants.

In addition to vocational training, EGB has rolled out various initiatives to support the local economy during Carnival. Customized stalls and complete work kits, which include branded shirts, coolers, umbrellas, and waist bags, have been provided to licensed street vendors. Furthermore, EGB has also assisted over 40 historic Carnival groups and associations, allowing them to participate without restrictions, thereby preserving the inclusive spirit of Olinda's largest cultural event.
The company’s efforts extended beyond Olinda. In Recife and Salvador, EGB provided training for recyclable waste collectors concerning proper waste disposal, personal protective equipment, hydration support, and daily cash incentives throughout the festivities. In Caicó, Rio Grande do Norte, the organization bolstered the local supply chain by sourcing local businesses to produce many promotional caps and hats used in its Carnival activities.
On the sustainability front, EGB has introduced carbon offset initiatives to counterbalance emissions from its operations while implementing responsible waste management and material reuse programs. The nominees for the Global Gaming Awards Americas 2026 are chosen by a panel of senior executives within the gaming industry, with oversight from KPMG to ensure independent adjudication. According to the awards organizers, Esportes Gaming Brasil's nomination details were primarily drawn from media coverage of the Costura Cidadã project.
