Sportingtech’s new CEO is Tom Ustunel. He was previously the betting and gambling director for News UK.

Ustunel, as CEO of Sportingtech from 2024 onwards, will spearhead expansion plans. The focus will be on expanding the provider of betting and gaming platforms’ presence in Latin America.

Ustunel has been with Sportingtech through First Gen Consulting for many years.

Ustunel worked for GAN over two years before that. He served as both vice president and chief of gaming operation.

Ustunel worked for News UK in the gambling industry as well, and held a similar position there for nearly seven years. The positions include head of bingo, gaming and betting as well as director for betting and gaming.

Ustunel was responsible for a significant expansion of News UK’s gaming assets during his tenure. It was part of a 2015 agreement with Playtech that saw the Sun Bingo, Fabulous Bingo and other brands migrate to Playtech’s bingo network. In February 2019, the deal was extended to include a new casino product launch and for a period of 15 years.

Ustunel began his career as a senior product manager for Rank Interactive. He was also a senior project manager for Smart Gaming Group.

Sportingtech stated that the promotion was made as part of the company’s growth strategy.

Ustunel stated that “Sportingtech’s trajectory has been incredible in the last few years.” Ustunel said that 2023 was a year of unprecedented success, which we want to replicate and build upon.

I am excited to work with such an amazing team across our entire company during this exciting period as we strive to cement our position as the provider of choice for operators.
