BC.GAME Expands into Ghana with Betting Launch

BC.GAME has officially entered the Ghanaian market with its sports betting and online casino platform following the receipt of regulatory approval. The announcement was made on Wednesday, marking Ghana as the third market for BC.GAME after landing in Mexico and Nigeria earlier this year.

The platform is now operational at bcgame.com.gh after obtaining a license from the Gaming Commission of Ghana, the authority governing gambling in the country.

Adrian Chen, BC.GAME’s senior legal counsel, highlighted the significance of this launch as a crucial step in the company’s strategy to expand into regulated markets.

"Ghana has a well-established regulatory framework, and entering the market in accordance with local licensing requirements represents an important step in BC.GAME’s regulated growth strategy," Chen stated. "Our focus is to operate transparently and responsibly, provide clear information to local users, and ensure that our products and operational processes remain aligned with applicable Ghanaian requirements. We look forward to building a sustainable, long-term presence in the market."

BC.GAME described Ghana as an exciting opportunity due to its strong regulatory framework and its highly connected society, along with a cultural affinity for football and digital entertainment. The company has tailored its platform to cater specifically to local needs.

According to data from H2 Gambling Capital, Ghana’s online gross win reached $903.5 million in 2025, reflecting a considerable 24% increase from the previous year's total of $729.8 million.

Although the African gambling market is traditionally dominated by South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya—the so-called ‘Big Three’—Ghana is quickly establishing itself as a significant contender. African iGaming Alliance CEO Peter Kesitilwe previously indicated that Ghana’s reputation stems from its sound regulatory foundations.

"Ghana has developed a reputation as one of West Africa’s most stable and commercially attractive markets," Kesitilwe remarked. "It is trying to improve its regulatory maturity, and political stability is key, as policymakers attract investors. Many operators now see Ghana as an important strategic growth market within the region."

BC.GAME’s entrance into Ghana comes on the heels of the February launch of Kaizen Gaming’s Betano brand in the same market.

However, the operator has faced its share of controversies. In December 2022, it withdrew its license in Curaçao, citing an "increasingly hostile" operating environment. This followed a court ruling in November that declared BC.GAME bankrupt for failing to pay players owed funds. Additionally, the company lost its white label license in the UK, raising eyebrows about its sponsorship deal with Leicester City Football Club. In response to the bankruptcy claim, BC.GAME asserted that it had no liquidity or financial stability issues and is continuing to expand into new regulated markets.
