The 2022 report from Spectrum Gaming Group has been released, revealing key insights in the ongoing conflict between leading gaming companies Playtech and Evolution. The report emerged during Evolution's legal battle with Black Cube, a private intelligence company that was contracted by Playtech in 2020 to investigate alleged misconduct involving Evolution. In response to Black Cube's controversial findings, which Evolution contested, the company sought an independent analysis from Spectrum Gaming Group.
Spectrum’s report, produced in 2022, remained confidential until now, even as Evolution maintained that it cleared the company of wrongdoing. On Wednesday, Playtech issued a statement citing compliance issues noted in the Spectrum report, raising questions about Evolution’s operations.
The report highlighted concerns regarding the accessibility of Evolution's games in certain restricted markets, the potential regulatory consequences of its practices, and a lack of active oversight over its customer base. Importantly, however, Spectrum concluded that there was no evidence suggesting that Evolution had engaged in illegal activities.
