Codere Online has secured a multi-year agreement to serve as the official betting partner of the National Football League (NFL) in Mexico, coinciding with the start of the NFL season in the United States.
This partnership encompasses sponsorship rights for major NFL events, including Super Bowl LXI and the highly anticipated NFL Mexico Game, which will feature the San Francisco 49ers facing off against the Minnesota Vikings on November 22, 2026, in Mexico City. In addition, the agreement extends to promotional activities related to the 2027 Super Bowl in Los Angeles, allowing Codere to engage its customers through hospitality programs, VIP experiences, and initiatives across various cities in Mexico, as well as opportunities for NFL merchandise.
Carlos Sabanza, Codere Online's director of sponsorships and public relations, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This agreement strengthens our premium positioning while underlining our long-term commitment to Mexico, a market with an extraordinary passion for the NFL.”
By partnering with the NFL, Codere Online aims to enhance customer engagement and offer unique experiences around prominent live events.
In recent quarters, Mexico has emerged as a crucial market for both the NFL and Codere Online. In the second quarter, Codere reported €36.1 million in net gaming revenue (NGR), marking a 24% increase compared to the previous year. Aviv Sher, the company's Chief Executive, noted the increasing competitiveness in the market and emphasized a commitment to continued investments in the region.
Reflecting on the state of regulation in Mexico, Sher mentioned the difficulties posed by outdated laws, stating, "Right now we are working based on a framework of laws which you cannot even call regulation, from 1947. So it’s very hard to work long-term and to give long-term commitments. While the future is unclear in terms of regulation, we saw what happened in other countries in LatAm when they changed the regulation every other month.
In Mexico, I think we are stable; we know how to deal with this market. Of course, we will be very happy if in the future a proper regulatory framework will be introduced and not the way that we are working right now."
