Holland Casino has officially commenced the construction of a new venue at Businesspark Ter Borch, following the complete destruction of its earlier Groningen location due to a fire in 2017.
The ground-breaking ceremony, held on Friday, was attended by company staff, construction partners, and local officials. Petra de Ruiter, chief executive of Holland Casino, remarked that this project represents a major milestone after extensive planning.
"Today, as a team, we are taking a significant step towards the future of Holland Casino Groningen," de Ruiter stated. "This is not just about building a new structure; it’s about creating a space where our guests feel welcomed and where our employees can take pride in their work."

Holland Casino has committed to ensuring that the new venue prioritizes sustainability, accessibility, and hospitality, designed to align with modern guest expectations. Details regarding the construction timeline, expected opening date, venue capacity, or cost have not been disclosed.
Richard van den Broek, an employee of Holland Casino, expressed his excitement: "I feel relieved that construction is finally starting and can’t wait to walk in here."
