The gross online gambling revenue in Great Britain reaches PS1.36bn (£1.36bn) for Q4

The gross gambling yield in Great Britain (GGY), which is the total amount of money that can be made from online gambling, increased by 5% on an annual basis to PS1.36bn ($1.70bn/EUR1.59bn). At the same time, overall numbers of spins and wagers reached a record high.

The number of slots sessions that lasted more than one hour has increased by 2%, to 9.5 millions. Average session duration decreased by one minute, to 17 minutes. Approximately 6% of sessions lasted more than an hours.

The real event wagering yield has risen to PS565m

Other markets saw real-event betting contribute PS565m to online GGY. This is a 2% increase over last year. The number of bets fell 6%, to 923 millions.

In Q4, the average monthly active account increased by 1% in the market for real-event betting. The busiest quarter was March, with 2.8m active accounts and 338.3m total bets. GGY was 233.8m.

Online casino GGY topped 147.4m PS in the fourth quarter, with 53.9m PS coming from March. Internet poker generated PS15.1m in revenue, while virtual betting PS10.5m was earned, as well as esports wagering PS4.3m.

In Q4, Offline GGY fell 3%

The GGY of licensed betting operators, or LBOs, fell 3% and reached PS568m.

This is a decrease of 1.1% compared to the prior year. In Q4, over-the-counter gambling generated PS152.5m, while self-service betting machines (SSBT) generated the rest of PS126.4m.

Total bets, spins and wagers fell by 1% during the fourth quarter to 3,30 billion. In Q4, machines accounted for 3,09 billion wagers.

During the last three months, there were 23.7 millions sessions of play on machines. These sessions lasted 587,051 minutes or more.
