Gibraltar to Host Europe’s First Prediction Markets Summit

Gibraltar is taking a significant step forward in the realm of prediction markets with the introduction of new regulations aimed at establishing a responsible framework for the sector. Minister Nigel Feetham KC MP will officially inaugurate Prediction Markets Summit Europe, set to occur in Gibraltar on November 9–10, 2026.

This summit represents an important occasion for discussing regulatory, commercial, and technological aspects of prediction markets as Gibraltar positions itself as a forerunner in creating a closely monitored regulatory environment in Europe. The Hon Nigel Feetham, who serves as Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry for the HM Government of Gibraltar, will deliver the keynote address at the summit. His involvement reflects Gibraltar's transition from formulating regulations to implementing an active framework for prediction markets.

In his remarks, Minister Feetham expressed his enthusiasm about participating in the summit: "I am very pleased to be participating in Prediction Markets Summit Europe and to discuss Gibraltar’s approach to the regulation of prediction markets. Gibraltar has always been prepared to act where others hesitate. We took a deliberate decision to create a licensing framework for prediction markets because we recognize the enormous opportunity they represent, economically, technologically, and for the global financial ecosystem. Our approach is quality over numbers. We want credible, regulated operators who contribute to what Gibraltar has built here over three decades. I look forward to welcoming industry leaders to Gibraltar in November."

The summit is organized by Eventus International and aims to bring together regulators, platform operators, financiers, investors, legal and compliance experts, technology providers, and market infrastructure specialists for high-level discussions and collaborations.

The agenda will cover critical issues, shifting from theoretical discussions to practical applications: including European regulatory classification, the financial implications of MiCA, cross-border licensing, event resolutions, market integrity, and the roles of blockchain and AI. The summit will also examine Gibraltar’s position as a regulated platform for fostering responsible innovation.

Given the evolving regulatory landscape, this summit provides a timely opportunity for industry professionals to actively participate in shaping future conversations, partnerships, and commercial strategies in this rapidly growing European market.

Ahead of the summit, there will be a related pre-summit LinkedIn Live webinar titled “Prediction Markets Under the Regulator’s Lens: Classification, Trust and Responsible Growth” on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 12:00 to 12:45 CEST, which will explore topics regarding classification, trust, and responsible growth to prepare attendees for the discussions in November.
