Super Technologies has officially launched its Superbet brand in Greece, introducing both a sportsbook and an iGaming offering. This initiative will be managed by a team dedicated to local operations. The announcement made on Monday marks Greece as a key strategic market for Super Technologies, part of a larger expansion plan into Central and Southern Europe. This move follows the company's recent acquisition of MaxBet, which has enhanced its presence in Romania, Serbia, and Malta.

The Greek gambling market is experiencing significant growth, with H2 Gambling Capital's Ed Birkin noting an annual increase of about 15%. Currently valued at €1.2 billion, the market is projected to grow to €1.5 billion within the next few years. Birkin pointed out that less than 60% of the licensed betting and gaming market is currently online, indicating further potential for digital growth.

At present, around 20 brands operate in Greece, with OPAP’s Stoiximan holding approximately 50% of the licensed online sports betting market share. The operational landscape in Greece has advanced notably, particularly in Athens, where various operators and suppliers have developed technology and trading hubs, transforming the region into a burgeoning center for iGaming infrastructure in Southern Europe.

Despite consistent double-digit growth in online gambling revenues, digital market penetration remains lower than in more established European markets, suggesting opportunities for further advancement as consumer preferences increasingly favor online platforms.

Superbet has assembled a local team in Athens that will focus on Greek sports and community engagement. Adam Lamentowicz, the chief commercial officer for Super Technologies in Central and Eastern Europe, described Greece as a "mature and thriving market." He emphasized that this launch represents more than just market entry, marking a commitment to create an engaging entertainment ecosystem centered around sports.

John Kalamvokis, general manager of Superbet Greece, emphasized the expertise of the professionals recruited to lead local operations. He introduced a new social product, Supersocial, designed to boost user engagement. He remarked, "We are just writing the first chapter of a future success story that will unfold with impactful partnerships and community projects."

The Superbet platform in Greece will feature a comprehensive sportsbook that includes markets for football, basketball, and tennis, offering competitive odds for both pre-match and live betting. The operator has prioritized regulatory compliance and provided localized product experiences for desktop and mobile users.
