Warren Greatrex has been announced as Fairplay's ambassador for the upcoming 2026/27 Jumps season. The trainer, who has celebrated multiple Grade 1 victories with horses like Cole Harden and La Bague Au Roi, will provide insights and updates from his Lambourn yard, sharing regular blogs and video content during the Jumps season.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, Greatrex remarked, "Fairplay is a really good concept, and I was really taken by it. As soon as I met Billy, I thought ‘wow!’, I just love his enthusiasm. I’m very excited!" He emphasized that the partnership will highlight his stable's activities, including training routines, swimming horses, and using treadmills. He also noted the quality of his young team and his belief that partnering with Fairplay will facilitate shared growth.
Bill Gowing, Founder and Managing Director of Fairplay, addressed the current challenges in British racing. "There’s no hiding from the fact that British racing is facing a challenging period. Rising costs, increased regulation, and changing market conditions mean it’s more important than ever that businesses with a genuine passion for the sport continue to invest in it," he stated. Gowing acknowledged Greatrex's commitment to hard work, integrity, and ambition—values that align with Fairplay's mission. He added, "While others may be reducing their involvement in the sport, we see this as the right time to step forward. We firmly believe horse racing remains one of Britain’s great sporting institutions, with a passionate and loyal following."
Fairplay began in 2023 as a social peer-to-peer betting platform and subsequently launched the sportsbook Fairplay Bet following the acquisition of a sportsbook license. This year marked Fairplay's entry into on-course betting by taking a pitch at Glorious Goodwood, with plans to secure pitches at Cheltenham and Newbury for the 2026/27 Jumps season.
