DraftKings announced Lori Kalani’s appointment as the first Chief Responsible Gaming Officer.

Kalani’s role will be to support DraftKings in the integration and elevation of their player protection and safety activities. The initiatives will be spread across the entire operator’s platform and its player community.

Kalani joined DraftKings in January after serving most recently as a Partner at Cozen O’Connor. She also served as co-chair of the State Attorneys General practice.

Kalani worked as a lawyer at Dickstein Shapiro before joining the firm. Kalani was also Senior Counsel at the global law firm Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Kalani stated, “I’ve long been impressed by DraftKings as an engagement and entertainment platform that brings together a gaming community.” Kalani said, “Joining DraftKings is an exciting chance for me to strengthen the efforts of our company and to look for ways to reinforce the responsible gaming initiative.

I am excited to work with my colleagues, the regulators, leaders in industry and advocates from our community to demonstrate DraftKings commitment to responsible gambling and to promote a gaming environment that is healthy for everyone.

Jason Robins, DraftKings CEO and co-founder, said: “Responsible Gaming is one of the top priorities for us.” Our mission is to create games our customers will enjoy responsibly.

Lori’s leadership will help to further our initiatives for responsible gaming and our dedication to establishing new standards in the industry.

DraftKings changes at the top

DraftKings announced several changes to its senior management team last month.

Jason Park will step down as Chief Financial Officer to become the company’s first Chief Transformation Officer, with effect from 1 May. Park joined DraftKings in June 2019 and has been CFO for DraftKings since almost five years.

Park’s new position will include overseeing the integration of Jackpocket’s proposed acquisition, which was announced in February.

Alan Ellingson will replace Park, who is currently Senior Vice-President for Finance and Analytics at DraftKings. From 1 May, he becomes the CFO.

DraftKings announced that Ellingson would be responsible for continuing to increase shareholder value through driving the company towards its financial goals.
